Sewer Line Repair in Lewisville, TX
Several drains slow at the same time. Sewage smell in the yard. A toilet that gurgles when the washer empties.
Sewer line repair in Lewisville depends heavily on which part of town you're in, because the pipe under Old Town is nothing like the pipe under Vista Ridge. We scope it before we quote.

Your Neighbourhood Decides the Answer
Lewisville has a wider spread of build eras than most cities its size, and for sewer lines it’s the single most useful thing to know.
Old Town Lewisville is the oldest housing in the city, and those lines may be cast iron or, in the earliest properties, clay tile. Cast iron rusts and scales inward until it cracks. Clay tile is short sections joined end to end, and the joints separate as soil moves — roots find the gap and grow toward the moisture. Neither material lasts forever, and Old Town’s are well into their range.
The 1970s and 80s growth ring is largely cast iron indoors with early PVC outside, depending on exactly when it went up. Mixed, which is why scoping matters here rather than assuming.
Vista Ridge, Indian Oaks, and Castle Hills are later and mostly PVC. PVC doesn’t crack and separate the way cast iron and clay do, so when these homes back up it’s normally a clog or a belly rather than failed pipe — a very different repair and a very different price.
Clay soil affects all of it. Swelling and shrinking through wet and dry cycles shifts pipe out of alignment. Modern PVC flexes; brittle aging cast iron and clay don’t.
We Camera the Line First
On any Lewisville sewer line there are three possible answers, and they cost very different amounts:
Roots or a blockage in sound pipe — clearing, and a plan for the roots.
A single failed section — a spot repair.
A line at the end of its life — replacement or lining.
You can’t distinguish those from the fixture. A camera inspection costs a fraction of a replacement, and you watch the screen with the technician.
If you’re in a newer Lewisville neighbourhood and someone quotes you a full sewer replacement, get it scoped before you agree. PVC usually clogs or sags rather than failing outright.
Repair Options
Spot repair — excavate and replace the failed section, when the rest of the line is sound.
Pipe lining — a resin liner cured in place inside the existing pipe. Much less excavation, and viable when the host pipe still holds its shape.
Full replacement — for lines that have collapsed, have a significant belly, or are too deteriorated to line.
We go through the options with prices before anyone digs, including whether lining is realistic for your line — another answer that only comes from the camera.

Lewisville Sewer Line FAQs
How do I know if it's the main line or just one drain?
If a single fixture is slow, it’s local to that fixture. If several are slow together, or a toilet gurgles when the washing machine drains, the main line is partly blocked. The second situation is worth attention promptly, because a partial blockage becomes a total one at an inconvenient moment.
What's the difference between cast iron and clay pipe failing?
Cast iron corrodes from the inside, builds a rough scaled surface that catches waste, and eventually cracks — so it clogs progressively more often before it fails. Clay tile is sound material but the joints between sections separate, which lets roots in. Cast iron is a deterioration problem; clay is a joint problem. The repair differs.
Can a sewer line be relined instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Lining installs a new pipe inside the existing one with minimal digging, and it works when the host pipe still holds its shape. A collapsed line or one with a significant belly has to be dug. The camera determines which.
Will you have to dig up my driveway or patio?
Only if the line runs under it and lining isn’t viable. Once we’ve located and scoped the line we look at every route that avoids paved surfaces first, because that work is expensive and disruptive. You’ll get the options priced.
My house is in Vista Ridge and the sewer keeps backing up. Is the pipe broken?
Probably not. Vista Ridge is newer and mostly PVC, which doesn’t crack and separate the way older material does. Recurring backups there are usually a clog or a belly — a low spot where the line settled and water pools. Both show clearly on a camera, and neither needs a replacement.
How urgent is a sewer smell in the yard?
Worth looking at soon, though not usually a same-day emergency unless sewage is surfacing. It generally means waste is escaping the line underground. Sewage backing up inside the house is the version that needs an immediate call.
