Little Elm Plumbing Services
Here’s what we fix. If your problem isn’t on this list, call anyway — it probably still is.
Kitchen sink backing up, shower filling while you stand in it, a toilet that won’t clear.
No hot water, not enough of it, rusty water, or a tank leaking on the floor. Our most common Little Elm call.
Newer homes rarely come with softening, and our water is hard enough to shorten the life of a water heater.
Low pressure through the house, or a soggy patch in the yard that never dries.
See the actual condition of your line before anyone quotes work on it.
Emergency Plumber in Little Elm — Same-Day Service
Being based in town means a Little Elm call usually isn’t a drive across the metroplex for us. If your problem can wait until morning, we’ll tell you that too — we’re not going to charge you an emergency rate for something that isn’t one.
Call now if you have:
- Water actively leaking or flooding
- Sewage backing up into the house
- No water at all
- A water heater leaking on the floor
- A gas smell near a water heater or gas line
For a gas smell, leave the house first and call the gas company. Then call us.
Why Choose Wise Choice as Your Plumber in Little Elm, TX
We’re your neighbours. Our shop is here in Little Elm. Not a call centre routing you to whoever is nearest.
A real master plumber owns this company. Matthew Wise, Texas license M-46550.
You get the full price before we start. In writing. It doesn’t change partway through.
We price the job, not the hour. If the repair is harder than expected, that’s our problem, not your invoice.
We show you the problem first. Camera footage, photos, the failed part in our hand.
You can say no. Decline the work and you pay the service call, nothing more.
You get a real window. For your address, not a vague half-day. If we’re running behind, you get a call.
We clean up. Shoe covers on, mess gone, and we walk you through what we did.
We’re here nights and weekends. 24/7, no answering service runaround.
Financing is available on larger jobs.
What moves a price: how reachable the problem is, whether it’s under the slab, repair versus replacement, and whether the work needs a permit and inspection.
Common Plumbing Problems in Little Elm Homes
Almost everything here is new, and that changes what breaks. With the town growing more than tenfold since 2000, the vast majority of Little Elm homes have PEX supply lines and PVC drainage. You’re very unlikely to be dealing with the cast iron, clay tile, and galvanized steel failures that plague older cities nearby.
What you get instead:
Water heaters reaching end of life, all around the same time. The single most common call.
Builder-grade fixtures giving out. Valves, cartridges, flappers, and supply lines installed at the lowest acceptable cost start failing somewhere around the ten to fifteen year mark. Hard water accelerates it.
PEX fitting failures. The pipe itself is durable and handles ground movement well. Connections are where problems show up, and they’re usually a localised repair rather than a systemic one.
Backups that are clogs, not broken pipe. PVC doesn’t crack and separate the way cast iron and clay do. When a Little Elm home backs up it’s normally something that went down the drain, or a low spot where the line settled in newer fill. That distinction matters a great deal, because a clog and a sewer replacement are priced nothing alike. Get it scoped before anyone quotes a replacement.
Hard water, everywhere. The Town’s supply comes through the North Texas Municipal Water District, which is on the harder end for the metro. In a town of newer homes, few of which came with softening, it scales water heaters and shortens fixture life.
Two water providers. Not every Little Elm address is on the Town’s system. Parts of the area, including Paloma Creek, are served by Mustang SUD instead. Worth knowing which you’re on — see the FAQ below.
Water Heater Repair & Replacement in Little Elm, TX
This is what we’re called for most here, and the reason is in how fast the town was built.
Little Elm went from 3,646 residents in 2000 to nearly 26,000 by 2010 — one of the fastest-growing municipalities by percentage in Texas over that period. The bulk of the housing went up inside a handful of years in the mid-2000s.
A tank water heater lasts 8 to 12 years. When a town gets built in one short stretch, its water heaters reach the end of their lives together. If yours is original to a mid-2000s Little Elm home, it’s well past the expected range — not approaching it.
Signs yours is near the end:
- Popping or rumbling while it heats
- Hot water runs out faster than it used to
- Rusty or brown hot water
- Moisture or rust around the base of the tank
- It’s original to the house and the house is over 12 years old
Hard water shortens it further. Minerals settle into a layer at the bottom of the tank, and the burner has to heat through that layer instead of directly into the water. That’s the popping sound, and it’s why heaters here often don’t reach the top of their range. Flushing once a year genuinely helps, and most homeowners can do it themselves — we’ll show you while we’re there.
We carry the common sizes, replace most units the same day, haul the old one off, and pull the permit.

Little Elm Plumbing FAQs
Are you actually based in Little Elm?
Yes. Our shop is here, and our master plumber’s license is registered from here. A lot of companies list Little Elm as a service area while operating out of somewhere else entirely. We live and work in the same town you do.
Who supplies my water — the Town of Little Elm or Mustang SUD?
It depends on your address. The Town’s system distributes water from the North Texas Municipal Water District, but parts of the area — Paloma Creek among them — are served by Mustang SUD instead. Your water bill will say. It’s worth knowing, because conservation notices and service issues affect the two systems separately.
My Little Elm home is from the mid-2000s. What should I expect to fail first?
The water heater, then builder-grade fixtures. Your supply lines and drains are modern materials with a long life ahead of them, so the things that fail are the components installed at the cheapest acceptable spec — valves, cartridges, toilet flappers, appliance supply lines — plus a tank water heater that’s now at or past its expected range.
Why do so many Little Elm water heaters need replacing around the same time?
Because the town was built in a very short window. Little Elm grew more than sevenfold between 2000 and 2010, so a huge share of homes got their water heater within a few years of each other. Those units then reach end of life together. If your neighbours are replacing theirs, that’s not coincidence.
My builder's warranty has expired. What should I be watching for?
Check the water heater’s age first — read the serial number, where on most brands the first four digits are the month and year. After that, watch for slow drips at shut-off valves under sinks and toilets, a running toilet, and any drop in water pressure. None of those are emergencies, and all of them are cheaper to handle before they become one.
Do I need a permit for plumbing work in Little Elm?
Most replacements and installations do, including water heaters. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection so you don’t have to deal with it.
Should I install a water softener in a newer Little Elm home?
It’s worth considering. Most homes here were built without softening, and our water is hard enough to scale a water heater and shorten the life of fixture valves. Whether it pays back depends on how long you plan to stay, but if you’re already replacing a water heater it’s the natural moment to have the conversation.
Do you charge extra for nights and weekends?
We charge an emergency rate for genuine emergencies outside normal hours, and we tell you that on the phone before we come out. What we won’t do is apply it to something that could have waited until morning without telling you. If your problem can wait, we’ll say so.
