Our local Fort Worth plumbers are equiped to handle any residential or commercial plumbing problem you may have.

A kitchen sink that holds water, a tub that drains in slow motion, a toilet that needs two flushes. We clear it and tell you what caused it.

Brand new water heater after installation
No hot water, lukewarm water, a rumbling tank, or a puddle at the base. We’ll tell you whether it’s a part or the whole unit.
Several drains slow at once, a smell in the yard, gurgling when the washer drains. Common in Fort Worth’s older neighborhoods, where many lines are well past their design life.
A higher water bill with no explanation, a warm spot on the floor, or the sound of water with everything turned off. We locate it before we open anything.

Buying a home, or dealing with foundation movement? A pressure test of the drain lines under the slab can show whether there’s a leak before repairs start.

Emergency Plumber in Fort Worth — Same-Day Service

Call at 3 a.m. and a real person picks up.

We’ll give you an honest arrival window for your side of Fort Worth. If the problem can safely wait until morning, we’ll say so. You won’t pay an emergency rate for something that isn’t one.

Call now if you have:
  • Water actively leaking or flooding
  • Sewage coming up into a tub, shower or floor drain
  • No water at all
  • A water heater leaking on the floor
  • A gas smell near a water heater or gas line

For a gas smell, get everyone out first and call the gas company. Then call us.

While you wait: know where your main shutoff is. In many Fort Worth homes it’s in a box near the curb or in the front yard. Turning it off stops an active leak.

Why Choose Wise Choice as Your Plumber in Fort Worth, TX

Most people searching for a Fort Worth plumber need one now and are comparing quotes fast. Here’s what you get from us.

A master plumber owns this company. Matthew Wise, Texas license M-46550. Not a call center sending out contractors.

We know old Fort Worth and new Fort Worth. A 100-year-old bungalow in Fairmount and a five-year-old house near Alliance fail in completely different ways. We diagnose each on its own terms.

We scope before we quote. On an older sewer line, the camera goes in first. That costs less than guessing wrong.

You get the full price before we start. In writing. It doesn’t change partway through.

We price the job, not the hour. If it turns out harder than expected, that’s on us, not your invoice.

We show you the problem. Camera footage, photos, or the failed part in hand.

You can say no. Decline the work and you pay the service call, nothing more.

You get a real window. For your address, not a half-day. If we’re running late, we call.

We clean up. Shoe covers on, mess gone, and a walkthrough of what we did.

We’re here nights and weekends. 24/7, no answering service.

Financing is available on larger jobs like a sewer replacement or water heater.

What moves a price up or down: how reachable the problem is, whether it’s under a slab or in a crawl space, repair versus replacement, and whether the City of Fort Worth requires a permit and inspection.

Common Plumbing Problems in Fort Worth Homes

Fort Worth has more century-old housing than almost anywhere in North Texas, and some of the fastest-growing new subdivisions too. What goes wrong depends on which one you’re in.

The near south side is genuinely old. The Fairmount-Southside district alone covers about 375 acres and more than 1,000 historic homes, mostly bungalows and foursquares built from the 1890s through the early 1920s. Ryan Place, Berkeley Place and Arlington Heights followed soon after. Homes from that era can still have cast iron drains, clay tile out to the city main, and galvanized steel supply lines. Galvanized rusts closed from the inside. Cast iron scales and cracks. Clay joints separate and let roots in.

Many older homes sit on pier and beam. That puts the drain and supply lines in a crawl space instead of under concrete. It’s easier to reach, but it also means freeze exposure in a hard winter and leaks that can go unnoticed for months.

North and west Fort Worth are new. The Alliance corridor, Heritage, and the developments west along I-30 mostly went up in the last 25 years. Those homes have PEX supply and PVC drains, which rarely fail outright. When a newer home backs up, it’s usually a clog or a low spot in the line, so confirm that with a camera before anyone quotes a replacement.

The ground moves. Much of Fort Worth sits on clay that swells when it rains and shrinks in drought. PEX and PVC flex with it. Old cast iron and clay tile don’t, which is one reason older neighborhoods see more sewer trouble. Ground movement can also stress drain lines under a slab, which is where a hydrostatic test helps.

Water Heater Repair & Replacement in Fort Worth, TX

Water heaters are one of the most common calls in any Fort Worth neighborhood, old or new. What changes from house to house is where the heater sits and what it’s connected to.

Signs yours is near the end:
  • Popping or rumbling while it heats
  • Hot water runs out sooner than it used to
  • Rusty or brown hot water
  • Moisture, rust or a wet drain pan around the base
  • It’s original to the house and the house is more than 12 years old

Fort Worth water still leaves scale. Fort Worth Water’s 2019 report put hardness at about 8 to 10 grains per gallon. That’s milder than many cities north of Dallas, but minerals still settle in the bottom of the tank. Over years, that layer makes the burner work harder and shortens the tank’s life. An annual flush helps.

Location matters. Older Fort Worth homes often have the heater in a hall closet or a converted utility space. Many newer homes put it in the attic or garage. An attic unit needs a working drain pan and drain line, because a leak there comes through the ceiling. We check the pan, venting and gas connection on every replacement.

Thinking about tankless? A tankless unit needs far more gas flow than a tank, and many existing gas lines are too small for it. A complete quote includes that upgrade. If one tankless quote is far cheaper than another, ask whether the gas line is in it.

Repair or replace? If the heater is under about eight years old and the problem is a part, like a thermostat, element or valve, repair usually makes sense. If it’s past ten or the tank itself is leaking, replacement is usually the better call. We’ll tell you which one you have.

Fort Worth Plumbing FAQs

How quickly can you get to Fort Worth?
Call and we’ll give you a real window for your address rather than a guess. We’re open 24/7 for emergencies.

Moderately hard. Fort Worth Water’s 2019 report listed total hardness at 138 to 178 ppm, about 8 to 10 grains per gallon. That’s somewhat softer than many cities north of Dallas, but still enough to build scale in water heaters and on fixtures over time. Fort Worth draws on lakes including Eagle Mountain, Lake Worth, Benbrook, Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek.

Original or early replacement pipe. Homes from that era may still have galvanized supply lines, cast iron drains and clay tile out to the street. If your house is that old and the sewer line has never been scoped, a camera inspection is worth doing before you have a backup, not after.
Newer homes have newer problems. Builder-grade valves and fixtures start to fail around this age, original water heaters reach the end of their warranty, and PEX fittings occasionally fail even when the pipe is fine. Broken sewer pipe is much less likely than in older parts of town.
It can be a slow leak in the crawl space, where nobody sees it. It can also have causes that aren’t plumbing. A look under the house is the way to find out.
It can. Clay soil shifting under a slab can stress drain lines, and a leaking drain line can make soil movement worse. A hydrostatic test checks whether the under-slab drains are holding pressure. It’s often requested before or after foundation repair. It doesn’t diagnose the foundation itself; that takes a foundation specialist.
Most replacements and installations do, including water heaters. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection.
Yes. Financing is available, which helps on jobs like a sewer replacement or repipe.
